In 1995, a group of ceramists and ceramic amateurs created the ParisPotier Association with the aim of launching a major event in a central area in Paris to serve as a showcase for ceramic works of art.
“We wanted a friendly outdoor event, highlighting sculptural as well as utilitarian ceramics. We wanted to create something in the heart of our city, free from the context of an art gallery which many people may be reluctant to enter, and attract the general public with complicated artworks as well as reacquaint experts with popular forms of pottery.”
Thus was born Les Journées de la Céramique in Place Saint Sulpice in early July 1997. In 2019 the name was officially changed to Saint-Sulpice Céramique as that was the name most people knew it by. Saint-Sulpice Céramique is a one-of-a-kind event which is still true to its original objectives.

Our partners and collaborators as well as many volunteers and friends, the enthusiasm and commitment of the invited ceramists, have allowed the growing success of Saint-Sulpice Céramique during these four days rich in sharing and encounters.
ATELIERS D’ART DE FRANCE
Ateliers d’Art de France is the federation of a network of associations working to promote art crafts and supports more than 300 events organised throughout France each year. Among them, Paris Potier, an association of committed and passionate ceramists, which honours ceramics in the heart of Paris.
Over the years, Saint-Sulpice Céramique has become an unmissable event, showcasing a wide range of contemporary French and international ceramics. A place for exhibitions and access to markets, it is also a unique opportunity for meetings, exchanges and discoveries. The public, faithful and passionate, comes to follow the work of the creators and to acquire new pieces.
Whether they are decorative or utilitarian, all these creations are unique pieces, the result of a long process of creating the material; they respond to a quest for authenticity and durability.
Ateliers d’Art de France is proud to support this quality event which, in addition to introducing a wide public to the work of ceramics and the values of our community, undeniably contributes to the economic, cultural, artistic and tourist influence of the art professions!

PARIS CITY HALL
The City of Paris is always happy to support and assist professionals in the arts and crafts. The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, is doing everything she can to welcome and train the talents of today and tomorrow in Paris.
Through the “Fabriqué à Paris” label, which promotes local and responsible manufacturing, the Ateliers de Paris incubator, which has supported nearly 250 designers over the last 20 years, and the “Prix savoir-faire en transmission”, which encourages exchanges between generations, the City of Paris is working to support the craft industry and is committed to creativity.
Saint-Sulpice Céramique is therefore a unique laboratory for promoting the wealth of Parisian craftsmanship, a cornerstone of the capital’s national and international influence. Since 1997, it has been a popular must-see event for any Parisian looking to unearth unique works of art.
Now more than ever, the arts and crafts sector needs to be promoted and supported. So I invite everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to choose local, environmentally-friendly craftsmanship.

LE VERGER PERDU
Founded in 2014, Le Verger Perdu is Brittany’s first 100% organic ice cream shop. Its founder, Ritchie Huxley, is originally from Stoke on Trent in England, otherwise known as the Potteries! Le Verger Perdu was awarded the Gold Medal at the Gastronomie Awards and was awarded the “Ice Cream Award” at the “Eat Better at the Cinema” competition in 2022. Its amazing seasonal flavors are based on fruits, plants and flowers with a direct link to the producer.
